MP3: New Songs From Tune-Yards, TV On The Radio, Fleet Foxes

The weather nowadays has been downright bipolar: rainy one day, sunny the next, and right back to rain. So what’s the cure for this demonic dichotomy? New music!

I’m here with three brand new tracks, each off the new albums of Tune-Yards, TV On The Radio, and Fleet Foxes. All three of their albums has been rocking my socks off the past two weeks. They’ve all been vying for my listening attention and I’m doing the best I can to give it to them but unfortunately there’s only so many hours in a day to stew in harmonic bliss!

First off have a listen to Tune-Yards new track ‘Powa’. Comes equipped with some excellent guitar chords that haltingly punctuate along with Merrill Garbus’ vocal stylings. Definitely a mood rouser:

Tune-Yards – Powa

Second we’re turning our attention to TV On The Radio’s ‘You’ that sweeps back and forth while it carefully cradles your heart in its sonic embrace. I get a dopey grin on my face from listening to this song.

TV On The Radio – You

Last, but certainly not least! Fleet Foxes new album is rocking me the hardest right now. And by rocking I mean its tender lullabies are caressing me all over, putting me into grooves and places of peace that I simply love to visit. This song has the luxury of coming equipped as a music video. So please click play and enjoy the marvelously mellow moods of Fleet Foxes’ ‘Grown Ocean’.

Foals – Miami

This isn’t a new song. It’s been out for a while, but I can’t stop playing it today. I find it a nice compliment to the weather: like the weather this song is calm and energetic at times. How wondrous are uncertainties.

Sleigh Bells – Treats

Every once in a while a new album comes out that sounds like nothing else. Sometimes these albums break new ground in an ambient and sparse way, with lilts in each song that accentuate the sublime subtleties hidden in each track (e.g. The Field – From Here We Go Sublime). Sometimes these albums break new ground by pitting together instruments and sounds that work in such awesome harmony that it’s a wonder it was never accomplished before (e.g. Arcade Fire – Funeral). And then sometimes these albums roar so ferociously in your ear that at first listen they come off as raw, unfiltered noise that was designed to annoy rather than entertain. Sleigh Bell’s debut album Treats is that such album.

Google Chrome: New Release and New Promo Video

If you’re not aware: the program you are using right now to read my website is called a browser. Specifically a web browser because it ‘browses’ the web.

Currently there are five major browsers that are used: Internet Explorer, Safari, Firefox, Google Chrome, and Opera. Depending on what you primarily use the internet for decides what browser is the best choice for you. And really, at the end of the day, the browser you use is your choice, so choose the one you enjoy using the most.

Personally I prefer a browser that is fast. And by fast I mean it’s the fastest out of all the browsers. Today my choice is Google Chrome. And today a new version of Google Chrome was released that I think you should try.

The Google Chrome blog describes in detail how much faster the new release is due to improvements in the browser’s code. However that isn’t the main reason why I’m excited about this new release. The blog describes it best:

“Additionally, this is the first Chrome beta that features initial integration of the Adobe Flash Player plug-in with Chrome, so that you can browse a rich, dynamic web with added security and stability — you’ll automatically receive security and feature updates for Flash Player with Chrome’s auto-update mechanism.”

What does that mean for you? Flash, which lets you watch videos on YouTube and similar websites, will be automatically installed and updated for you to the newest, fastest, and safest release. All without you having to do anything. How’s that for easy street?

But the team that makes Google Chrome wasn’t content to stop there. They have gone ahead and made a video (with the help of video-makers) that gives a neat frame of reference for just how fast Google Chrome is. Have a look at the video below, and after you’re done watching download the new release by clicking here. Let me know if you like the browser.
