Louis C.K. Live At The Beacon

About a month ago I had the great fortune to watch Louis C.K. in concert at the Beacon Theater. He was amazing as usual. Full of fresh material and comedy that made my cheeks hurt so much from laughing that at points I just wanted him to stop talking so I could get a break.

This Saturday Louis C.K. is making his entire comedy special available to download and stream for only $5. The cost is well worth the comedy. I’m sure I’ll be getting my hands on this special to rewatch his jokes.

To help promote his upcoming release Louis posted an out-take clip from his special. He talks about evolution and the oddities of human beings. Watch the clip below and be sure to grab the special on Saturday.

Stand-up Comedy

Comedy is a funny thing. I don’t mean that in an overly punny and witty way but the goal of comedy is to get people to laugh. I love getting people to laugh.

Growing up I was pretty interested in theater. I took part in a good handful of plays growing up: some were school productions and some were from local theater productions. I’ve also tried my hand at improv and sketch comedy in my high school’s improv group. The improv group was thrilling as you never knew what the other person on stage was going to say, in return you were never sure if you’d have something funny to say back.

Week of Links 014 & 015

This is a double-featured Week of Links because I’m so late getting it online. This covers this past week, and the week before that one.

As you can tell these posts are becoming harder to keep on top of, and as such I am going to have to put my ‘Week of Links’ on hiatus for a little bit. Life has gotten way too busy and I simply don’t have the right amount of time to dedicate to these posts. Also I want to start focusing on longer term projects. That means that they’ll be less regular updates from me, but hopefully with more things to share when I do update.

For now please enjoy this latest Week of Links.

Reggie Watts – F*ck Sh*t Stack

Reggie Watts is a comedian I hadn’t heard of until I found out he was the opening act for Conan O’Brien’s comedy tour. Even after I found out about him I still wasn’t interested.

Then one day I decided to Google Reggie Watts. This is his video that I found [NSFW]:

Catchy, ain’t it? My favorite part are his lyrics on women. Classy all the way.

Conan O’Brien’s Show at Google HQ

Conan O’Brien has been on the road lately performing on his “Legally Prohibited From Being Funny on Television Tour”.  This past week he made a couple of stops in Silicon Valley, visiting Twitter HQ and Google HQ.  Fortunate for the internet, Conan’s entire appearance at Google was filmed and put on YouTube.  So, enjoy some time with Conan and Google.  [source]

iPad and Me

On Saturday I woke up before the birds began singing to wait in line at my local Apple store for the launch of the new iPad. I was there for two reasons. The first was to buy an iPad – which I did and now own. A full review will be posted as soon as possible but for now let me say this: this device is great fun. And before you make up your mind about whether you like it or not let me offer one piece of advice: go to your local Apple store and play with it for five minutes. That’s truly the only way to get an accurate idea of whether this device is for you.

The second reason why I was at the Apple store was to film a promotional video for the Niente Peaches comedy group’s upcoming film Charlie Christ: The Gospel According to Fools. I have recently joined this ensemble as Director of Marketing. We’re in the last round of filming and the film should be complete sooner rather than later.

At the Apple store this past Saturday we got a lot of footage and last night my friend Ernie finished compiling the video. It’s now on YouTube and I’ve posted it below for easy viewing.

After you finish watching the entire thing I’d like you to remember this note: The last scene was acting. I was told to perform and there you see my Oscar-worthy performance.

Video found after the link.
