Computer Hacking In Movies
Hacking in movies is usually a joke. The super nerdy character is shown in front of a computer screen that usually shows bright green text on a black background, typing away at a ferocious and inhuman pace. At odd intervals the character usually mutters to himself (as it’s usually a guy), alternating between grunts of joy and grimaces of pain. Ultimately a short montage of spinning clocks floats past the hacker’s sweating brow until in a triumphant last-minute sprint the hacker jumps to his feet in a triumphant yell.
Ignoring the obviously contorted length of time it would normally take to conduct the hack at hand, the graphics that are usually shown on the computer screen are never near any realm of realism. Usually awkward graphics and nonsensical commands are shown being inputted into the screen, resulting in new windows popping up lush with beautiful graphics that would look more at home in a 3d rendering program.

New Charlie Christ Video Made With Final Cut Pro X
I spent most of my Sunday cutting together a new behind the scenes clip for my friends’ film, Charlie Christ: The Gospel According to Fools.
This is the first clip that I used some Creative Commons music and I think the result came out very nicely. Simply adding some music to the video added a great deal of excitement and flair and helped me obtain a level of quality that I don’t think I’ve hit before.
It was cut in Final Cut Pro X and I took full advantage of all of its new features, such as magnetic snap and clip connections. I’m so much more fluent with FCPX than I was with Final Cut Pro 7. Sure I didn’t spend that much time trying to learn FCP7 but then again the program didn’t make it particularly fun and interesting to learn.
The video is below. Have a look and let me know what you think.
Second Charlie Christ Trailer Released
Over the weekend I took part in a special event for a movie my friends are making called ‘Charlie Christ: The Gospel According to Fools’. I’ve helped my friends a fair amount with the production of this movie and over the weekend an event was held to update everyone on its progress, as well to release the second official trailer of the movie.

First Official The Three Stooges Photo
I’ve been a big fan of The Three Stooges since an early age. My father showed me their comical wisdom at an early age and I’ve been a fan ever since.
A Three Stooges remake is nearing on the horizon and they just released the first official photo of the new three stooges.
I’m so excited.
Bill Murray: The Man Who Knew Too Much
Bill Murray is one of my favorite actors. He has a wonderful, dry sense of humor that he infuses into his odd-ball performances. If you’re not aware there’s a certain amount of mystery around Bill Murray’s night-time exploits:
Although Stewart may not have been aware of Murray’s funnyman reputation, the actor’s comic legend was already beginning to take shape. Indeed, Murray has been the subject of considerable lore—going back to when he first joined the cast of Saturday Night Live in 1975. But there is one story that gets bandied about more than others: It was late one night in New York City. A man walked alone through Union Square, empty at this hour. The man felt a pair of hands reach out from behind and cup his eyes, blinding him for a moment. Frightened, he turned around to find Bill Murray, who said to him, “No one will ever believe you,” before walking away into the night.
There’s many more of those types of stories, some unprovable, and some proven. There’s one verified story of Bill Murray walking into a bar during this year’s SXSW, going around the bar counter, and serving drinks to whoever wanted one.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows New Trailer
In case you haven’t seen this yet – as it was just released yesterday – a new trailer for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is out. I got chills watching it, remembering what went down in the last Harry Potter book. The trailer, somewhat hyperbolically, states this is the “motion picture event of a generation” but really it kind of is. I, along with many people around the world, grew up reading Harry Potter, waiting for the next book to be released and then rushing home to lock myself in until I finished reading it before it could be ruined. Those were fun days.
Watch the trailer after the break.
