And here’s the third and final part of my How-To Guide for Selling Your Stuff on Amazon Marketplace. I loved writing this part because here’s where you get paid! Nothing is better then getting cash for your old things. If you have any questions on any of these parts leave a comment with your question and I’ll reply.

Amazon Marketplace How-To Guide Part 2

The Great Internet Paywall
On Sunday I got a funny idea for a website. Inspired by The Wall Street Journal’s decision to require users to pay to access their articles I created this satirical website.
Nothing there works, it’s just a static page, but I’d be seriously curious how many people would pay to “access the internet.” I think it’s all hilarious – to access that webpage you already need to be accessing the internet. The irony kills me.
Fall’s Going to Change Things
Last Thursday I received some awesome news. Let me back up first: Currently my full-time job is a college student. I am finishing my college career and was expecting to graduate in December of this year. Last Thursday I met with my guidance counselor and found out that I can graduate this summer. I’ve been on Cloud 9 since.
That was until I began thinking about what I was going to do this Fall. I’ll be a college-grad, living at home, and without a job. I’ve never encountered this before. Any other times I’ve had off were in-between college semesters. This is the first time I’ll be without school – and it’s a weird feeling.
Best thing I can do is to live today as today. If I get to thinking too far in the future I end up tripping over myself in my haste to force the future to become the now.
I’ve been working on an original song. When I get it better polished expect for it to be published here. I’m eager to get feedback but frightened of harsh criticism.
Disregarding everything above: here’s an up-and-coming band whose going on tour soon with the Antlers. They call themselves Phantogram and they got good grooves. My music doesn’t sound anything like this (yet) but I still love these sounds. Hit play and give them a listen.

Music Tuesday
I had a very snowy Tuesday morning. After going to bed at an unusually early hour I woke up at two odd intervals during my sleep. First time was at 2am when I have the barest memory of making myself a piece of bread and butter. Second time was at 8am and resulted in an hour spent reading about web2py.
After I woke up and started my day I began scouring through music blogs in hopes of finding a new sound to start the snowy day. Thanks to the keen ears of Aurgasm I was greeted to the breezy, mellow tunes of Nicole Simone.
I was hoping to update and post her music earlier today but I didn’t have time. In any case, her sounds will lull you into the night. Her EP comes out later this year.

Also: I found a web app that lets you type in the name of an artist and their song. It then computes the tempo of the song and graphs any deviations in BPM. This gets you a pretty good guess if the song’s beat was made by a drummer or a machine. It’s called In Search of the Click Track and I think it’s awesome.
Amazon Marketplace How-To Guide Part 1
The most viewed post that I’ve written so far has been the Amazon Marketplace entry – seems people are interested in making an easy dollar. So, the natural thing for me to do is write a guide on how to sell your stuff on Amazon.
Amazon already offers tutorials to help you start selling. I found them a little confusing and scattered so I’m writing my own. This one goes from A-to-B: wanting to sell something to getting the funds in your bank account.
This guide will be broken into three different parts. The first part will teach you how to list your items on Amazon Marketplace, the second part will show you what to do when an item sells, and the third part will show you how to get your earnings into your bank account!
Two Door Cinema Club – Tourist History
I love finding artists before mainstream media does. It’s an acquired skill, one that is mostly luck and perseverance. There isn’t a science to it, but there are ways in which you can increase your odds. In this particular case I have the Hype Machine to thank for this new artist discovery.
There are times when my enthusiasm for finding a new artist overshadows the actual talent – for Two Door Cinema Club this is not the case. Since getting my hands on their debut album Tourist History (released 3/1/10 in the UK) I have not been able to stop listening.
Massive Attack – Heligoland
I’ve been a fan of Massive Attack’s since I first heard their song Teardrop. An evil creeping song, it became my anthem for some time – a perfect backdrop for my teenage angst.
In 2003 Massive Attack released their LP 100th Window. I got a copy and began listening – hoping and waiting to see what the follow-up to Teardrop would sound like. Ultimately I was let down. The track that came closest to reproducing the feeling I got from Teardrop was Prayer For England, and even then I was left wanting.
This was seven years ago. Massive Attack have just released their latest LP, Heligoland. I have had the pleasure of listening to this album a few times and I can safely say that this is a true return to form.
Juggling
Although I never promised that this blog would be updated regularly I still feel I should explain (to anyone reading) why updates occur haphazardly.
Let’s start with this blog as Commitment #1. (Although I feel it’s too early for this blog to be considered a ‘commitment’ – it hasn’t been around long enough that I feel I have committed to it. I intend to commit but time will be the judge.)
Before I began this blog I immediately ruled out the possibility that it would be updated daily. Not only would that be immensely time consuming but I don’t have enough worthwhile things to say.
College is Commitment #2. Right now I am taking five different classes at my university – no small feat. And in order to stay current with my studies I must attend class and produce whatever homework is required. Continue reading
